Yazd

The city of Yazd is located in the middle of the two major deserts of Iran, Dasht-e Kavir and the Lut Desert. Its location explains its warm climate wheather especially during summer. Since 2017, Yazd has been registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Being on the edge of the desert it enjoys a very unique architecture. This architectural style has helped its inhabitants to tolerate its atmospheric conditions for generations. Yazd is known as the city of wind catchers, Cisterns, Qanats, Yakhchals and Zoroastrians temples. Dakhmeh or the towers of silence are the other attractions of the city. Ancient Zoroastrians would place corps and dead bodies on the towers to be eaten by birds. The old neighborhood of Fahadan is one of the most beautiful places in the city of Yazd. Yazd is a city of delicious sweets and silk fabrics called Termeh. This city has the most beautiful traditional hotels in Iran. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit this city. At a short distance of the city, 4000 meter peak of Shirkouh is located.
