Damavand Mount

Damavand is the name of a great mountain in the Alborz mountain range in northern Iran with 5671 meters high, is known as the tallest mountain in the Middle East. Damavand Mount is a volcanic peak with a beautiful landscape that can be seen in the sunny weather from Tehran, Varamin and Qom, as well as from the southern coast of the Caspian Sea in Mazandaran province. Single Peak on the top of the lush slopes and the absence of any other natural structure around it has created a unique perspective for this great Mountain. This mountain is located 26 km northwest of Damavand city and 69 km northeast of Tehran. Persian poets such as Ferdowsi and Bahar have mentioned to this Mount in many poems, especially a poem written by Bahar that is so popular among Iranian.  In this poem, he compares Damavand to the white demon that has masked his face with cloud.
