Soltaniyeh Dome

Soltaniyeh Dome, in a city of the same name in Zanjan province, is one of the masterpieces of Iranian architecture in the Islamic era, known as the largest dome of the world made up of brick. More than 730 years old, was built on the orders of one of the Mongol kings named Sultan Mohammad Khodabandeh, and he himself was buried under the same dome. The main body of the dome and its entire building are made with brick and the dome is decorated with azure tiles. Has been situated in the large plain on the way from Tehran to Zanjan. This is made in the form of a single coating and for the sake of volume, architectural style, the proportions of the various components, the static; the durability of its structure and its beauty is one of the most prominent domes of the world. Many of the historical texts and travelogs also refer to this magnificent building.
