Hormuz Island

Hormuz, Salt dome an oval shape island which is also known as the Persian Gulf key, because of its vicinity to Hormuz Strait and location between Persian Gulf, Oman Sea and Oceanic. 42 square kilometer space and eight kilometer distance to Bandar Abass city in south of Iran.  Existence of minerals and beautiful stones has made this Island museum of geologists. On the sea route of Qeshm Island to Hormuz, mountains are seen in yellow, white and red colors. Among Island Mountains, there is a red mountain called "Gelak" which locals use its soil as a seasoning for preparing fish, bread, pickles, jam and sauce.
